Yotsuba&!'s Danbo Cardboard Robot Gets Photo Book

The Japanese publishers ASCII Media Works and Kadokawa Group Publishing will release 365 Days of Danboard, a photo collection of the Yotsuba&! manga's cardboard robot suit Danbo by American teenaged photographer Arielle Nadel, on October 27.

Nadel took Kaiyodo's Revoltech action figure of the Danbo character from Kiyohiko Azuma's slice-of-life manga and photographed the figure at various locales every day for an entire year. From March 19, 2009 to March 18, 2010, Danbo went to photoshoots at home, in the woods, in the rain, at Disneyland, and elsewhere.

The 128-page book will sell for 1,365 yen (about US$17.70). ASCII Media Works is the publisher of Yotsuba&! in Japan, while ADV Manga and later Yen Press published the manga in North America. The photo collection was first revealed at this year's "Yotsuba&! Daily Calendar" exhibition that celebrated the manga's 10th anniversary in Tokyo earlier this month.
