'Dragon Quest-Style' Live-Action Show's Promo Streamed
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
TV Tokyo released a promotional video for the Japanese live-action television drama Yūsha Yoshihiko to Maō no Shiro, which premiered on July 8. The fantasy program's premise and monsters are very reminiscent of the Dragon Quest videogame franchise. The live-action television series is set to run for 12 episodes, and the fourth will air on July 29.
Takayuki Yamada (star of the film Densha Otoko) plays the lead role of Yoshihiko, a youth who must go on a quest to save a village. The story takes place in a time long ago when forests still dominate the landscape. Yoshihiko must find the cause of a mysterious plague that sweeps the land, as well as find his father who went in search of a cure.
Updates about the show can be found on TV Tokyo's official Yūsha Yoshihiko to Maō no Shiro website.
