The 38th SIGGRAPH conference and exhibition, which focuses on computer graphics and interactive techniques, will screen Satelight's Macross Frontier computer-animated video "Listen to Our Song! Superdimensional Divas LIVE!" and Tekken Tag Tournament 2's trailer. The conference will be held from August 7 to August 11 in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Macross Frontier and Tekken shorts themselves will be screened on August 8 and 10, respectively as part of the conference's "Commercials, Games, and Music" festival screenings.
Satelight's "Macross Frontier Chō Jikū Super Live" event is screening on PlayStation Home service until July 30. The event was originally supposed to debut in March, but it was delayed by the March 11 Great Eastern Japan Earthquake (Higashi Nihon Daishinsai) disaster.
Namco initially released Tekken Tag Tournament for PlayStation 2 in 2000. The arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will be released this fall.
SIGGRAPH's festival screening will also include YKBX's "anomie" music video for the rock band amazarashi. YKBX won an excellence award at the Agency for Cultural Affairs' 14th Media Arts Festival for a music video for amazarashi's song "Natsu wo Matteimashita." Masaki Yokobe's "Christmas" video for amazarashi ran in the Music Video category of France's Annecy in June.
At last year's SIGGRAPH conference, Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) presented its fVisiON 3D display, which was recently used to demonstrate a concert-style 3D tabletop projection of the virtual idol Hatsune Miku. Footage from Macross Frontier was also used to demonstrate 2D-to-3D conversion hardware last year.
