posted on by Andrew Osmond
There will be an official launch and signing for the Spirit of Hope charity comic anthology on Saturday July 23 at London's Forbidden Planet. According to the facebook page, the event will feature "as many of the contributors as can possibly make it." The event will be from 1300 to 1600. There will also be other signing events around the country.
Conceived by Tim Pilcher of the Comic Book Alliance, Spirit of Hope was produced to help victims of the Japan and New Zealand earthquakes. The 116-page book includes contributions from more than 85 people, including manga artists Michiru Morikawa and Akiko Shimojima. Other creators include Liam Sharp, Henry Flint, Nick Abadzis, Glenn Dakin, Mark Buckingham, Al Davison and Peter Hogan. (Some sample images can be seen on the Forbidden Planet blog.) The book has two alternative covers, one by Jimmy Broxton (left) and one by Michael Allred (right).
Spirit of Hope costs £14.99. It can be ordered from the CBA page; postage is £3 in the U.K., or £5 to the rest of the world.
