posted on by Gia Manry
Yoshikazu Yasuhiko joined Osamu Tezuka's Mushi Productions in 1970, where he designed characters for the 1971 anime series Sasurai no Taiyō. He later storyboarded Space Battleship Yamato (known as Star Blazers in the United States) and created character designs for the 1979 television anime Mobile Suit Gundam. Yasuhiko continues to work on the Gundam franchise to this day; he illustrated the novel series that inspired the new original video anime (OVA) series Mobile Suit Gundam UC. He is also credited with numerous manga, including retellings of the tales of Jesus, Joan of Arc (Joan), and Leon Trotsky (Niji-iro no Trotsky), as well as the ongoing manga Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.
