Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden is a prequel to Fushigi Yugi. It is the story of the Takiko Okuda, the very first miko(priestess) to enter the Shi Jin Ten Chi Sho and become the Genbu No Miko. This takes place 200 years before Miaka and Yui's story. Here we see how Takiko collected her Genbu Seishi and summoned the god Genbu. We know two of her seishi Tomite and Hikitsu who we met in volume 9 of the Fushigi Yugi manga and episode 34 but this manga tells how she met them all.
Before Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden was being published in Sho-Comic magazine. Now new chapters are being published in Fushigi Yugi Perfect World every three months. This magazine is dedicated to everything Fushigi Yugi including Drama Cd, Trading cards and pin-up poster made by Yu Watase
Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden ~ Kagami no Miko is a Playstation 2 video game loosely based on FY Genbu Kaiden, where a girl from the real world journeys throughout the lands of Shi Jin Ten Chi Sho.
