Trivia:

It took a while to get a domestic dvd release of the 80's Astroboy, because Steven Spielberg allegedly held the rights to the property.

The first two episodes of the original Japanese version were combined to make the English episode 1. However, it has been reported that the first two episodes were dubbed correctly but never released.

Black Jack, star of many classic Tezuka series, appears in Episode 27.
