Transformers: The Headmasters (TV)

Originally meant to be Season 4 of Transformers, Headmasters became an all Japanese production when toy sales declined dramatically in the U.S. Instead, Americans got the 3-part miniseries "Rebirth" to end Transformers in the U.S. The show however, directly continues from Season 3 of American Transformers, assuming "Rebirth" never happened.
Despite this, an English dub of Headmasters was made in Hong Kong by Star TV for broadcast in Europe with an entirely new cast. However, it is considered one of the worst dubs ever made.
The designs of Headmasters were purposely modeled after the American art from Sunbow in order to establish a sense of continuity with the first 3 Transformer seasons.
Raiden is the only new character taken from an old toy line - he is a repaint of Train Robo from Diaclone.
