During the intro sequence, there is a magic circle with the text "OBEISSEZ A VOS SUPERIEURS ET LEUR SOYE SOUMIS PARCE QU'ILS Y PRENNENT GARDE" around it (only with the "E"s replaced by greek capital sigmas), which looks like it might be Latin or Greek, but it is actually French, though with a letter missing. Once proper accents are added, it translates as "Obey your superiors and be subjected to them, because they take guard there". I found a French PDF document (http://www.ezooccult.net/IMG/sg_serpent_genese_arsenal__sorcier.pdf), and when the paragraph that includes this was translated, it seems to be describing a magic circle on the cover of a Large Grimoire. The magic circle seen in the intro (and the trailers) may be an attempt to duplicate that magic circle.
The magic circle in the opening, and episode 6 at 16:30 is taken from the title page of the 1760 edition of The Grimoire of Pope Honorius. The magic circle at the very end of the opening, and episode 8 at 7:40 is the Grand Pentacle of Solomon, which, although it also appears in the same grimoire, was in fact taken from an older grimoire, the 1547 French edition of Heptameron.
The tank that the main characters ride in is a Type 74.
Banned in China.
In episode 8, at 11:57, the characters strike a pose like the person from the Edvard Munch painting, "The Scream".
