Trivia:

Mirai Robo Daltanias was actually one of the anime titles that World Events Productions considered importing into the U.S. as Voltron, but was dropped in favor of Hyakujuu-oh Go-Lion instead.

Tadao Nagahama was involved with Daltanious shortly after completing his "Robot Romance" trilogy, which gives Daltanious a similar feel to Combattler V, Voltes V, and Daimos. Unfortunately, Nagahama died shortly before the show finished airing on TV.
