In the manga, Rikishiman's name was Wolfman.
The series was banned in France for awhile because the character Blocken Jr. was believed to be a "Good-Guy" Nazi instead of a Nazi-themed bad guy wrestler who became a good guy.
While it wasn't broadcast in the U.S., snippets of footage from Kinnikuman were incorporated into the commercials for M.U.S.C.L.E. toys.
The guy speaking during the first ending theme (Niku 2x9 Rock n' Roll) is Akira Kamiya, Kinnikuman's seiyuu.
Episode 7 was the anime debut of "Canadianman", the only known anime Canadian superhero!
Eiji Kanie, the voice of Ramenman and Mongolman, died suddenly on October 13, 1985 at age 43. Episode 110 was titled "Ramenman Shall Not Die" in his honor. Episode 111 was his final recorded episode.
