Plot Summary: Twins Maiko and Shoko are descended from a line of female shamans loyal to Karura (the Japanese Buddhist version of the Hindu guardian creature Garuda). They use their powers to investigate and battle supernatural forces. When an ambitious priest seeks dominion over Japan by unleashing spirits sealed in a temple in Nara, the sisters not only combine their powers, the must also rely on support from a range of allies.
