Trivia:
Gigantor was the very first giant robot show, that is, show where the protagonist uses a giant robot to help accomplish his goals.
Additional sound effects were added to Gigantor's fly scenes in the English dub because Fredd Ladd felt it made the character appear to be more powerful with rocket engine sounds as oppose to the steam power sounds in the original Japanese version.
