In Sawai Sperman Takeshi’s movie Nobire, “Omae Wa Mo Oshare Ja Nai” (You’re already unfashionable) is a parody of “Omae wa mo shinde iru” (You’re already dead), the Kenshirou’s famous catchphrase from Hokuto no Ken.
Krauser's "Akuma-dama" is a parody of Goku's "Genki-dama". Just as Goku gathers life force from things around him, fans believe that they can pass their evil to Krauser.
Krauser's moniker "Maoh" or "Demon King" is also the popular moniker of the famous daimyo Nobunaga Oda of the Sengoku era.
In episode 2, in the Karaoke booth, Aikawa's friend sings "Sakura no Toki", by J-Pop singer aiko.
In episode 5 the 'Spanking Fuurinkaton' is a reference to Sengoku daimyo Takeda Shingen's motto, Fuurinkazan: 'Be swift like the wind, silent as a forest, fierce like fire, immovable like a mountain.' In DMC the last part is changed to 'squeal like a pig.'
