in ep 8, around 4:15, there's a cameo of the captain of the Macross Quarter (Macross Frontier). He is captaining a sinking battleship.
In episode 4, Karen attacks the man in the octopus costume with a blue lightsaber of Star Wars fame.
In episode 9, Minato hands over her personal strawberry cake recipe to Yuuhi, the outline of which is drafted in a diagram of circles and lines which suspiciously resembles the Sephirotic Tree of Life.
In episode 9, at about 12:10, the last six CDs in the collection shown are plays on the following artists: 'Scatman Best' refers to Scatman John, 'Britney Best' obviously to Britney Spears, 'Mariah' to Mariah Carey, 'Spice Superhits' to The Spice Girls, and 'Jamiro Best' to Jamiroquai.
