The official Twitter account for Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Red, the new live-action film adaptation of Rei Mikamoto's Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw manga, revealed a new visual for the films on Tuesday.
The project consists of two films that will both open in Japan on February 22 with 4DX screenings. The first film is subtitled "Nero no Fukushū" (Nero's Revenge). The second film is subtitled "Geeko no Kakusei" (Geeko Awakens).
Nana Asakawa will play protagonist Geeko in the films. Ano from pop group You'll Melt More! will play antagonist Nero Aoi. Asana Mamoru plays Nemesis, the leader of Uguisu Academy's New Student Council Guardians. Other cast members include Nanami Hidaka, Momoko Kaechi, and Jun Aonami.
The original manga centers around Geeko Nokomura, who is in a lone struggle to confront her classmate Nero Aoi. Nero turned all of their classmates into zombies. To get to her, Geeko cuts down all of her former classmates.
