Arc System Works announced on Friday that its World End Syndrome game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch will launch in Japan on August 30. The company had delayed the game from an April 26 release date.
The "mystery x romance adventure" game is set in the sea town of Mihate when the protagonist moves there and begins to attend a new school. He hears of a local legend in which the dead come back to life every 100 years and are known as "Yomibito." A missing high school girl could signal the return of the Yomibito.
Tomio Kanazawa is providing the scenario, Yūki Kaitō is designing the characters, and Niita Takashi is composing the music. Kōya Takahashi is in charge of backgrounds and movies. Ibuki Kido will perform the game's ending theme song.
