Anime Expo 2007
Aurora Publishing
by Carlo Santos,
Newly-formed manga publisher Aurora made a strong first impression at their panel, giving away free carry bags to all attendees and raffling off prizes such as a Japanese Nintendo DS Lite, a multi-region DVD player and various artbooks.
The company is a subsidiary of Ohzora, Japan's #1 publisher of women's manga. Aurora was founded in 2006 with a focus on publishing josei and yaoi manga, and also plans to develop original manga in America for worldwide release.
New titles from the publisher include Walkin' Butterfly (already available), Flock of Angels (due in August) and Nightmares for Sale (due later this year).
Aurora is also introducing Deux, a yaoi imprint. New titles include Hate to Love You, Spring Fever and I Shall Never Return.
The panel was then turned over to questions. Regarding the possibility of yuri, the company has not made any plans yet but may consider it in the future.
This report has been verified by a company representative.
