Eden of the East – Movie 1 - The King of Eden

The Selecao conspiracy continues in the feature-length film Eden of the East: The King of Eden releasing on DVD and Blu-ray on April 26, 2011. To celebrate, FUNimation and Anime News Network are teaming up for a contest fit for the Air King himself.

The rules:

• Must be an original art piece created for the contest using characters and motifs from the series, Eden of the East
• Must include the Eden of the East and FUNimation logos somewhere in the artwork
• All types of art are acceptable, be it digital, marker, paint, mixed media, poetry, music, interpretive dance, street art or even cosplay. As long as it works in the logos and fits into the theme of Eden of the East and The King of Eden, we want to see it. Be creative!
• If you aren't an artist, you're not out of luck- One grand prize and three other winners will be chosen just for voting
• Image entries must be posted on an online image gallery such as DeviantArt, American Cosplay Paradise, etc... and must be in jpeg format no larger than 600 pixels wide and 800 pixels tall (600x800) and 300kb
• Video and sound entries must be posted on YouTube
• Other entry formats must be posted online somewhere they are publicly accessible
• Multiple entries are allowed
• Anime News Network reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, refuse any entry it deems vulgar, illegal, or contrary to the spirit of this contest
• Entries must be received before 23:59 (11:59 pm) eastern standard time on 2011-04-03 (April 03, 2011)
• Accepted entries will be posted on Anime News Network on 2011-04-11
• Registered ANN users will be invited to vote for their favorite entries, the two entries receiving the most votes will be declared Grand Prize Winners
• A third grand prize winner will be selected by a panel of judges from Funimation and Anime News Network

  Additional Rules and Notes:

  • By submitting your entry you grant Anime News Network Inc. and FUNimation Entertainment the non-exclusive right to use and reproduce your entry in any way they see fit in perpetuity
  • Regarding AMV's: AMV's will only be accepted if you own the rights to the music, you have acquired a license to the music (or it is licensed via an open license like Creative Commons), or the music is in the public domain, and the video is entirely original (you can not use video from Eden of the East).
  • Do not watermark or cut&paste the logos into your work, incorporate the logos into the art itself. Be creative!
  • It is acceptable for a single entry to have multiple photographs (ex: Cosplay, a 3D sculpture, sequential art, etc...), in which case you should link to the gallery containing all the images in the entry url.
  The Fine Print: Although unlikely to happen, Anime News Network reserves the right to cancel, change or add rules to this contest at any time. Contest is open to any and all residents of the planet Earth and neighbour parallel dimensions, but prizes will only be shipped within the continental United States and Canada (elsewhere, you have to arrange to have it sent to someone living in the appropriate area, and they can send it to you.) Winners' names will be posted on AnimeNewsNetwork.com, their mailing addresses will be provided to our shipping agent of choice (ie: USPS) and no one else. Winners' addresses and e-mail addresses will be erased once the prizes have been shipped. Non-winners' names, e-mail and mailing addresses will not be given out to any one and will be erased when the winners have been confirmed. Non-winners will not be contacted, spammed or harassed in any way. We reserve the right to retroactively add new rules when and how we see fit.
