OH HELL YEA! Very Happy

I seriously can't wait for the release of Melody of Oblivion. Now I can see all the crazy color and shape abstractions ala Utena on DVD format.

So.. this R.O.D. the TV box, it's not any different from the Vol.1 box is it? Because if it is, then that stinks.

This is great news! I'm glad they're actually releasing a box, as Geneon seems to be shying away from that lately. And it's getting released on my birthday no less. Kick ass.

actually, i hope the box IS different, because while the existing box is decent, that it only holds the discs, to me, is a major flaw I was unaware of before purchasing. If they have a new box designed to accomodate all the individual volume boxes, the organizational side of my mind will be that much more content.

But what about the people who got the original LE box, and therefore DON'T have a seperate DVD case for the first disc?

indeed, an excellent point, all the moreso as said people would include me.

I suppose to rectify that, i would be happy if the le edition final vol also came with a copy of the cover to the regular vol 1 you could use with an existing dvd case.

but i doubt that will be happening...

The confoundment that is GAINAX is going to be made even more confounding by the fact that it's split amongst distributors.

Kudos to Geneon for being ready to license and distribute a title only 14 months after airing. Good on ya!

Oh, and don't forget to look out for MoO on Gameboy Advance soon, then.

Viva! Monster Union!

Geneon's philosophy, as explained by Chad Kime a few times last year, is to get title to market as quickly as possible.

While concurrent releases are attractive from several points of view, many in the industry don't like it because it means making the Japanese side wait on releasing the product whiel the English side produces its adaptation.

Geneon's policy, even on show's it co-produces, is to not make the Japanese side wait for a concurrent release, but to then bring the show out as quickly as possible. He suggested a time frame of 6 monthes.

I hate the menues Geneon dose, They overuse Bang Zoom's actors in their dubs, and some of thier titles U.S. productions seem rushed.

ADV always trys to get a GINAIX title first, and they lost this one. They also lost Siyuaki Reload and Gunlock. I wonder what they will licence this year to "get back" at Geneon. Mybe both of GINAIX's 20th anivericy Porjects?

Um, why don't you just be happy that someone has registered the title you wish to see. If not then it may not have even been licensed, look at it that way.

Also lets point out your mistakes.

"GINAIX" It's GAINAX. "Siyuaki" is Saiyuki. Sorry for pointing those out but I have reasons for disliking your post. Such as the ADV must license something to get back at Geneon? ADV already has or will be in the process of licensing titles. They don't license titles to get back at another company, they license them for a specific market. EG. When NOIR finished, ADV might have looked for another "gun" anime. Also ADV use alot of their voice actors over and over and over, producing horrible dubs aswell. If you don't like the Geneon dubs then WATCH THE JAPANESE WITH SUBTITLES.

I mean, ADV is guilty of nothing. Not with doing 13 discs for a 26 episode series, not with stupidly hyper-marketting, not using the same five voice actors again and again, not making crappy covers, not using annoying credit text, and most certianly not putting annoying "what is anime?/BUY NEWTYPE" ads at the beggining of DVDs. Absolutely never, how could anyone ever think that?

Besides, it's not a case of "getting back" at anyone, it's a case of "this is popular, so let's get it!". Nothing more.

I just love that advert. What is anime?
1. Most people WATCHING this know what anime is

Anime is: Action, Adventure, definitely not for kids
point 2. So thats why quite a few of your titles are stamped with ratings for children o_O;

It's kinda pathetic really. Lets advertise Newtype on our anime, our manga in newtype and the subsequent anime in the manga. Oh its a big triangle. Lets sing and spin in circles o_o
