I thought the same thing just from the article's thumbnail. A Google search leads me to believe that the designs are parodies but the game is serious. it is 100% a parody. in the original game, all the characters are boys love archetypes taken up to eleven, tackling the helpless and dimwitted protagonist, the stern student council president, the narcissistic sports star, etc etc. if the OVA carries over the humor of the VN, then it should be hilarious, even in the way it handles its "artistic" merits. to reinforce the fact that its art direction is intentional, compare this CG and this CG. while the former might not be particularly impressive, the aesthetic is more akin to old Type Moon/07th, while the latter looks like a mid-2000s deviantart submission. both happen within minutes of one another and showcase the wide spectrum of titles the series wants to poke fun at. |

That video was hilarious. Its amazing. I still can't believe they actually made an ova based on the game, it's awesome. I just... and the only girl actually looks well drawn.
 They should do Hatoful Boyfriend next.
