Huzzah, more pictures from Japan. Thank you Bamboo. I'm sorry you have to leave Japan like that but I'm sure it was worth the fun. The cherry blossom in the picture are very beautiful BTW!!!

So Japanese schools end their school-year about this time of year. I remember that many animes point it out
That Miyazaki clock, though

I visited Hama-Rikyu Gardens in December 2012 - a nice peaceful spot. Between the fish market and the gardens I walked past Tsukiji Honganji Temple and after the gardens walked past and photographed old Shinbashi station without even realising that it was (a recontructed version) of the old station building which was the terminus of original railway connection from Yokohama.
Lots of good memories...

Lucky that you came across that town clock through happenstance. Very few foreigners that manage to see it would realize that it was Hayao Miyazaki that made it. It's truly a valuable piece of artwork.

It's really great getting these photos, I want to be there dammit! However, I'll just say that I think uni is the worst and I have some Taiwanese "stinky dough" that you should love.

hmm... could it be because:

Is that anything like stinky tofu? Because stinky tofu is the worst thing in the world.

Hi Bamboo! Yes and Yes it is. Technically then we both agree Stinky Tofu is worst and I rank uni 2nd. To be fair though, you make a good point and maybe I haven't had really good and fresh uni. Goes to show how individual food preferences are. I still can't get my head around some of my Taiwanese friends who love ligitimately great food and then relish Stinky Tofu. Sorry, I really appreciate your photos but that one of the uni bowl says the opposite of "heaven" to me. Glad you enjoyed it.

The Hama-Rikyu gardens is a lovely place, found it on my second visit to Japan in 2011 when I was just randomly walking about the area. One of my favourite photos is capturing one of the water birds doing a running take-off across the pond near the tea house.
Glad you found the duck shrine, still goes down as one of the weirdest things I've seen in Japan.
Oh, and spiders.... so many spiders.

Great uni is great. Mediocre or bad uni is REALLY bad.
In other words you get it really fresh or not at all IMO.

Japan seems to be the one place in the world where there are no trash cans and people actually keep their trash on them to dispose of them later rather than littering them everywhere on the streets. It boggles my mind.

Living in San Francisco, I'm used to sorting out trash and recyclable, but rinsing and cutting milk carton is just too much.

@Enurtsol
*looking at the pictures of empty milk and juice carton*
What the heck, so in Japan you have to cut and dry out the whole carton?? That's boggle my mind. Sorry if I go off topic folks.
