Well, this is an interesting title to be released. At least DMP is getting much of Tezuka's titles out. Unlike what happened to 'The Crater'.

Probably not enough time for that $39,000 "Reprint Swallowing the Earth" stretch goal I take it.
Also, Tezuka's anime needs love too. Please fund the Dororo series, it's been a long 7 months. It needs so very little compared to those Kickstarters too. |

I read my French copy of this book while this campaign was going and Rock was a real treat in it. Every time he showed up he just had this aura and the manga instantly became a lot better. |

Yeah, that's out of the question for now, but you can get it digitally and they offering add-ons for it, as either a bundle or individual add-on. Frankly a lot of the old Tezuka titles, especially kiddy or shounen type are hard sells. Barbara and Swallowing the Earth probably have broader appeal within the manga audience because of their seriousness/edginess. Only problem I have with Tezuka's work even though I'm a supporter is that the male characters are often portrayed or drawn in a really silly or goofy fashion, no matter how serious the story Thankfully he doesn't do that for his female characters. |

Rock just makes everything better, I mean, look at the Metropolis movie vs manga. Rock is clearly part of why the movie is so awesome. I really wish DMP had some Rock goodies to give out, I'd so have pledged more for them. Seriously, even a poster that they made if they can't get stuff from Japan would make me happy (Astro is easy to get but Rock? I've not seen any Rock merchandise before) |

I ended up pledging for this too. I think I should resign myself to trying to budget money almost every month for their campaigns. Though most supporters couldn't have favored the KS so often, right? The info, comments and discussions for this campaign has been interesting.
I can't help but to be curious about the next title(s) as well. Rainbow Parakeet seems so far off in having a chance now. I wonder if they could do Prime Rose since that's one I'd like too and is only 4 volumes. And I repeat myself but, I would love another chance to get copies of Unico in print too. |

In a survey sent last December, my top three titles were Zero Men, Prime Rose, and Say Hello to Bookila. Ever since I've been very curious what it was for everyone else. |

Now if only TezukaPro would stop holding out on Simba, I mean Kimba.

Oh, another Prime Rose fan! I did ask Digital Manga to do it. Jungle Emperor Leo is my #1 must have. (Bookila is cute but, I've never read any of Zero Men. ) I kind of had trouble deciding what to put on that survey. Digital Manga had a survey for the title for this campaign too and out of the choices I picked Birdman Anthology because I love birds. Alabaster being chosen doesn't surprise me though. People really like the dark stuff. |
