Wow... $95 for just ONE episode ova. Is that worse than AoA pricing?

Also on Daisuki's webpage http://www.daisuki.net/gundamtheorigin/ it lists the English dub cast as the exact same people who are doing the Japanese dub. Either this is a mistake, or this is going to be a hilariously bad dub.

Price is for whats morenof a movie then a ova, also its about right compared to Gundam Unicorns initial run, when you consider those were just the disks for around 60, and this looks to have extras of some kind. There page is a mess tho, and a description of what the extras are would be nice...

It's $95 for the CE. It comes with a bunch of stuff, including a storyboards/setting art book which is 296 pages, two booklets (32p and 12p), as well as an art box + a sleeve.

This is also a Japanese release that has been created with a global audience in mind. Hence the dual audio and multiple subtitle options.

It wouldn't surprise me if Rightstuf and other international licensors who are handling this release will be releasing DVD versions of this in 2016.

It is technically Aniplex of America pricing quite literally. ACJ is a joint venture between Bandai, Aniplex and ADK.

I would.

Yikes, expensive. I love Gundam, but I don't know if I love it that much. Hopefully Rightstuf will offer it, and for a bit cheaper.

What are the chances of the extra books being in English?

I decided to just import the standard edition from Amazon Japan: http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B00Q9VX37G

Comes out to $52.24 (with shipping / no tax).

The Standard Edition still includes the same two booklets. The Collector's Edition just has the LD-sized packaging and storyboard book as additional extras.

I am doing the same. I am excited for this release but paying the extra $40-50 for untranslated extras is a waste of money to me. I hope TRSI considers importing the regular BD version as well.

Then the main justification for the price tag is going out the window. It's pointless to charge us more money for extras that 98% of the overseas audience can't read.

I don't know what kind of gold-plated plutocrats Bandai thinks their consumer base is, but I'm going to wait for a cheaper version or else put on this here eye patch and sail the internet with a Jolly Roger.

I'm really interested in this, but rightstuf generally seems to carry most imports at a little bit of a mark up. I got the LEs for all of Unicorn from Amazon JP for less than the price of the standard ones from rightstuf, for example. Unfortunately, rightstuf is the only retailer that I've found it on so far...

I guess I'll either have to bite the bullet, or risk missing out on it by waiting till it shows up elsewhere...

I'm really looking forward to this, but that blu-ray price, good lord. Looks like someone's been hangin' out with Aniplex.

How much will the streaming be? I can't wait for this but at the same time I find streaming the best option since it will be much cheaper.

Does anyone know for sure whether or not the regular Japanese edition is going to have the subtitles and dub on it? Because I've had it on pre-order for a while and don't see the sense in buying the extra expensive Export Version when I could buy the Japanese edition for a fraction of the cost.
