Now once the series starts, we must determine what Ikuhara in trying to convey with those images especially with that "licking nectar off the lily"! Surprised

It must be pretty hard for Ginko to know that her true self is a man-eating bear...
Aren't the folks nearest her scared of this prospect?

The ejected bullet casing's trajectory at the 0:46 mark was odd, physics-wise. Other than that a good PV

So, is it just me...or does it seem like the anime's story is...COMPLETELY different from the manga...?

Yes, the manga has an original story penned by Kunihiko Ikunaga who is the director for the anime (though the ANN article on the manga calls him Makinako Ikunigo which is likely just a pseudonym/alternate work name). It served mainly to introduce the character designs early (designs penned by Akiko Morishima).
