Sentai Filmworks licensed the television anime and plans to release it on home video this year.

Wait... But, they already did release it this year; I own a copy of it. Neutral

Anyway, as for the news, though, hooray for Oregairu further proving its greatness to the masses! Admittedly, I'm a little surprised that its popularity has lingered like this in the eyes of the Japanese... But, hey! Whatever keeps up the motivation of the studios to continue the anime adaptation until the inevitable, (hopefully) satisfying conclusion!

Given that SNAFU might not exactly have a Japanese equivalent, I wonder what the actual Japanese term is.

The series uses the on-screen title My Youth Romantic Comedy is Wrong As Expected, so I thnk the "SNAFU" part is just how they adapted it for an actual English-language release.

Now when are we getting that second season, anyways?

Still never understood what was so great about this anime/LN. the main character basically acts like I did in HS except in real life everyone hates that crap. Weird world. If it's fiction, it's awesome...if it's real..it's annoying.

SNAFU* has passed into the language and is now SFW. However it started as a military acronym that means having every thing go wrong is a normal situation. As such it is more or less a direct translation of "Wrong as Expected".

That's brilliant! I never knew the entomology on "SNAFU"! Just thought it meant "mistake." Makes sense that it's all in caps, then.

Really enjoyed Hachiman's deadpan snark. It started off strong at the start of the series and kind of died down as it when on, though. How do the novels hold up in the humor department?

The novels are walls of text of internal monologues. It's actually a lot more revealing as to what goes on into Hachiman's head, and yes, it is hilarious from time to time.
I really do hope this keeps getting the attention it deserves not because of how the main character is a god damn boss, but because of how the story unfolds, his interactions with others and the subjects this novel talks about.

I am truly happy for its sucess, it is one of my favorite animes and one of my favorite protagonist. Although I do love A Certain Magical Index better, it is a really good light novel(anime). I am also excited to see Misaka Mikoto top the number 1 spot yet again(Not, I love her but she is there just too many times Crying or Very sad I mean, she is my second favorite character of Index(After Accelerator) but I don't like that topping
