I disagree with the article's praise, but I fail to articulate it......the dub just seemed very flat to me....and I like dubs. Yomi and Sakaki seemed particularly...off somehow.
I guess this just happens sometimes.

For a while, I thought Azumanga Daioh was ADV's worst dub since Neon Genesis Evangelion. That was until I picked up the Steel Angel Kurumi Complete Collection DVD.

I agree with everything except Mandy Clark as Tomo.It seem she missing something from Chieko Higuchi as Tomo that I can't tell.
Good Dub overall(I could careless if some don't agree)

I'm loving what I heard in the audio samples. Kimura-sensei's dub is absolutely perfect!
The only thing that like, totally bothers me is like, the ditzy way that Yomi like, talks, y'know? She's like, totally one of my, y'know, favourite characters or whatever, so like, it could totally get on my nerves or something.
Seriously though, she seems a little out of character, given how she's supposed to be the sane, mature one of the group (I mean, aside from Chiyo), and not a complete Valley Girl.

The only voice that bugs me a bit is Ms. Kurosawa's...it's so Monica Rial...not that that's bad but it stands out.
There was one scene where Yukari reminded me of Sasshi (for obvious reasons), but that made it somewhat funnier.
I'm watching the sub first, but I by far prefer the dub. ADV does a great job.

I think for this particular anime, they got the lightheartness of the story and characters perfect with the voice actors.

I thought the dubbing that was well done. All the voices seems to fit the characters.

I like the dub, especially how they gave Osaka a southern Accent.

Funny, I just bought that myself yesterday. Anyway, I've yet to grab this show yet, so I still have misgivings on ADV releasing it(they aren't exactly my favorite company). I'll listen to the clips later(I need to get to bed) but for now, I just can't picture Osaka with a Texan accent. How do they handle the tranlation itself, btw?
