Wow. Sometimes, I just love to see a 18+ title reviewed, usually because if it's reviewed, then there was something quite damn wrong with it. I love the way you put the wording of the relationships. Heh. When a hentai tries to have an indepth storyline, it simply means more people get laid. =P

And the Demon Lord Dante? That just sounds like blasphemy. =P.

Even if GONZO or ADV fixed the Engrish on the first episode, who cares? Gravion sucks. I just hope ADV doesn't license Shinkon Gattai Godannar any time soon, as it's just as lame.

On a side note, why is it really hard to convince others to watch Figure 17? I rented it last month and immediately got hooked on it. Since then, I've reviewed it on other sites, yet I got 0 replies.

It's sad how fans don't know good anime when they see one.

It's weird, before yesterday I had never even heard of the show, yet it's supposed to be sooo good. What gives?

Because Media Blasters didn't promote the series properly. If Bandai Entertainment licensed it, that would be a different story.

Yeah, pretty much. Until the first time I saw the disc in the store, I had no clue what Figure 17 was. Not much of Media Blaster's releases get much promotion. No banners, no full-page ads, no convention dealer room towers... it's the downside of having a smaller company. Still, they should really consider investing more into advertising their products.

Maybe if they spent less money on porn (kitty). =/

Really though. Once, I entered a store, and I saw an entire shelf (and it wasn't high up either.) dedicated to media blaster's (kitty) hentai and such. Sometimes, I forget what they've even done before other than the horny stuff. sigh. =/

While I agree with the Media Blasters comments, I also suspect there is more to it.
This is a show that has a plot that, no matter how hard you descibe it doesn't sound quite like anything else. On the surface, a spoiler[a shy ten year old girl, her alien clone, going to school and fighting alien killer plants in deepest darkest Hokkaido] seems like a risky purchase to some people and "dorky" to others. Kino's Journey from last week's collum seems to be having the same problem.
Also, Figure 17 is one of a group of shows (Neo Ranga, Steel Angel Kurumi) that have been experimenting with episode length. In this case, the show has 50 minute episodes but typically two episodes a disk. Someone used to 24 minute episodes hears that there is only two episodes per disk thinks of better ways to spend $24.99.
Personally, I have disks one though four and though I thought the first disk was a little slow (that doesn't help either) I highly recomend the series. The end of disk four was an absoultely evil cliffhanger spoiler[and a very rude thing to do to poor Tsubasa-chan.]

All the best,

Nani?
