That decision is essentially the same as this old saying. "One man's trash, is another man's treasure."

Though this decision shouldn't be a surprise coming from Indonesian. That they are showing Shin-chan uncensored, does show some hope for Indonesia.

At least they aren't banning the show and second it can stay uncensored if aired as a late night anime.

Isn't this sort of like saying South Park is definitely pornography?

I mean, I've watched some of Shin-chan and its humor isn't for me, but I've seen things similar to what they've cited in really benign kid/family fare, too.

At least they aren't banning it...But what happens now? They've been told to censor it or push it into late-night hours, and they've said they won't. Will they get in trouble for that?

I think it was on fox kids at some point.

I was about to rage but as long as they make the true version available I'll refrain from being a ass**** for now.

Seeing as Indonesia is predominently Islamic, this is not surprising really. This statement would be his expected proclaimation, but secretly he's probably a big fan of it. Wink

This is basically the same reason Shin-chan was cancelled her ein the Netherlands too lots of years back.
I absolutely loved the show as a kid and could even watch it with my parents, but unfortunately the majority of people thought it was too inappriopriate for kids. Such a shame, really.

That is the reason why Vitello unable to get a TV deal in America due to how inappropriate that show was.

I heard Grey Delisle didn't like that show despite she didn't worked for the first English dub.

I think it is worth remembering (or pointing out if you didn't already know) that Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim-majority nation. The Muslim religion takes a fairly strong point of view about parts of the body that aren't "supposed to be" exposed in public, like butts and breasts.

May I remind you of the definition...

Pornography: obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, especially those having little or no artistic merit

(source)

I've never watched Shin-chan but having over 800 episodes and counting shows merit to a degree.
