Does anyone know what time/day NHK-E airs anime? I'm guessing they give them pretty good timeslots if viewership ratings can decide the fate of sequels.

I don't know what their usual timeslots for anime is but I know that Baby Steps aired on 5.30pm JST.

I am expecting another season of awesomeness that will hopefully stick with the source material.

Very happy to hear it! Very Happy

Baby Steps is by far one of my favourite sports series to date, manga and anime both. I think it's because it doesn't use "Sporting Superpowers" like we saw in Prince of Tennis, KnB and even Eyeshield 21 to a degree. The greater sense of realism makes it more enjoyable for me.

Unexpected but welcome news to me. I have been watching the first season, and I would like to see more of the characters.

This. And even more so that in the first season we've seen about a year and a half I think? And he still spoiler[loses quite often]. Very realistic, no matter how good someone is.

Great! This one has been a favorite of mine.
I think his tennis evolution is plausible, given his ocd personality.
He wins, and loses in bitter fashion, and it helps him improve.

I literally yelled and fist-pumped when the announcement came at the end of the 25th episode. (One of the finest of the series, in my opinion, due to the wonderful amount of Nat-chan x Ei-chan bonding time.)

It is so great to see a story being treated well by the anime industry, despite the lack of disc sales, from what I have seen. The story needs another season, at least, to do it justice, and in this modern anime world where so many good stories are left incomplete due to lack of sales, it is great to see this one being given better treatment. I hope season two takes the story all the way through the Nationals. I'm really looking forward to the Florida arc at the beginning of the season, and for the increased closeness of our protagonist and the ever optimistic Nat-Chan as they chase their dreams together.
