The article needs to be edited, Briareos is misspelled.

Actually, it's technically spelled right both times. One of the great quirks of translating Japanese to English, even if the word wasn't originally Japanese. (That said, yeah, it takes all of a minute to double check the 'official' translation.)

Well, since Shirow has completely gone off the deep end, might as well let someone else do the manga.

This feels a lot like Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. Very Happy

You know never in a million years would I have thought Iou Kuroda would draw Appleseed.

The guy who made Sexy Voice and Robo, about a plucky teenage girl who can manipulate her voice to solve mysteries for a retired Yakuza.

Or Nasu, a bunch of slice-of-life stories that have eggplants in them.

It's like Wes Anderson directing the sequel to Blade Runner.

Look at the art-style's, his drawing-style is the anti-thesis of Shirow's.

Ah well, look forward to seeing it for novelty's sake.

Well this seems interesting. I'm surprised there had not been something like this before. There were always little bits and pieces about Deuan and Briareos' backstory through the earlier issues of Appleseed during the days of Studio Proteus. However they never went any farther than just a page or two at the end of each issue on bio info. Just name, age and maybe a paragraph about their identiy, but just enough to have you questioning for more. I guess it was never something Shirow cared to elaborate on. I'm sure there are books that give some data on the Deunan and Briarios and their travels from where they began to Olympus.
