Nearly flipped shit when Mike McFarland tweeted this news a few minutes ago. Trina Nishimura is an amazing actress, with a super-wide voice range and powerful acting chops to back it up. Between her roles of Francesca Lucchini in Strike Witches, Mari Makinami Illustrious in Evangelion 2.22, Milly Thompson in Trigun: Badlands Rumble and Luna in Casshern Sins, she's shown that she can perfectly portray a large variety of characters with different types of voices. If anyone can do Mikasa justice in English, it's Trina Nishimura.

the clip that was provided for Elite Subscribers was Mikasa spoiler[telling everyone they are cowards and that she will take on the titans herself after finding out Eren was nommed]. She sounded great

Here's to hoping they don't ruin the entire dub by casting Todd Haberkorn as Eren. For whatever odd reason, the Funi people love to cast him as the lead male character.

That's probably not going to happen because he I don't believe he lives in Texas anymore. He hasn't been cast as a lead male character in quite a while. |

Woo! I'm totally with you there. Me no likey Todd as Eren. Me no likey at all.  Who do I want to cast as Eren? I have no idea, really  As long as it's someone who can pull off a good Eren, I guess

Awesome. I thought she'd sound great in the last thread when people were thinking of her getting the part.
The cast is sounding great, can't wait for the rest like ofcourse Eren and Armin, as well as Annie, etc.. |

Great. My (and others') wish to see Trina Nishimura play Mikasa came true. The cast is shaping nicely, based on the few VA's I am more familiar with. I have faith that Funimation will find suitable English voices for Eren, Armin and Annie.
Now I just need to know if the BD/DVD LE sets will have an artbox to house the two parts. |

That little line at the end there made it clear for me that he's gonna be in this dub and it made me want him to be a lead character even more. |

Man I wanted to hear a few samples but folks will get their special sneak preview. I usually don't watch dubs of shows unless it's a feature I'd watch with my niece. But I am curious now to see what the cast for AoT has to offer. I definitely wouldn't mind a listen.
