While I'm excited about the news I really wish they would give more substance. Looks like another soundtrack to grace my shelves. More Shoji Meguro goodness.
I can't wait to see what P5 is going to look like. Funny thing is that it's on PS3. I wonder if there will be some change like it ends up on the PS4, but we'll see. I'm wondering how many more years before PS3 will be phased out. |

Persona 4 Dancing All Night is the biggest news to me here... the others were all a given to get a NA release, but I honestly expected DAN to stay Japan only. Really excited to hear its coming out over here too.
Persona 4 came out 2 years after PS3 released, so it seems kinda odd people are surprised Persona 5 is coming out for PS3 now. Japanese developers just don't jump to the newest hardware as fast as Western devs do. |

You might be right about that. Y'know you made me think of something which should have clicked the first time. See P5 was announced last year and it's still under raps. So much so that some really were wondering if it was going to happen. But with the advent of the newer platforms, I had forgotten that the last 2 games were for PS2. So it would make sense to get it to the PS3 and push the capabilities of that system before it's retirement. For whatever reason I was thinking that if P5 was going to be bigger than life then it would go to the newer systems. I didn't realize that now is not the time. Considering the style the game takes. Sweet! Figured most or all of these would come out eventually, but still glad to get confirmation. Hopefully we'll get "PQ" as fast as we did "SMT IV."

Plus, why would you push out a big title like that for a system that's still getting its kinks worked out as well as having a low install base when you have a perfectly functional console that has been mastered and has a far larger install base. There's really no reason to be in a rush to discard something that WORKS. |

Yep, that's right. I forgot about the fact that the new system has "kinks" and that usually takes time before they know the pros and cons. But hell, FFXV is big title as well, but we know the whole purpose of that is to push the system. |

Gonna be buying 3/4. I got P4A but never really touched it much. Don't see much reason for me to get the sequel besides supporting Atlus, which is a good enough reason. I've got 3 fighters on PS3 which I've barely touched, really makes adding a 4th seem like a waste of money.

Persona Q will be my first Persona game. I hope I'm not horribly confused by it.

Even Atlus with Maken X on the Dreamcast pretty early. Same with the PS2. People always use the Persona 4 point, but it's funny. They seem to forget Atlus had plenty of games on the PS2 well before that. Games where they kept re-using assets in between them. Of course they released Persona 4 on the PS2 late in the game, they already had a lot of work done. I sure hope that whatever they are making on PS3 has assets and whatnot they can use on PS4/Xbone games. Maybe then we can actually have console jrpgs from Atlus. They were pretty bad on that front with just Catherine(not a jrpg I know) and coming soon Persona 5. Oh and I guess the Trauma Center games. |

Will reserve and buy all four games, no question.

Persona 3 is available on "soft" Playstation Network, and it's...less confusing than P4 or the anime. That's "less". (Otherwise, as a game, P3/4 is pretty addictive--Final Fantasy-style roaming-RPG mixed with...school/date sim? Yes. Plus, it's a sequel-of-sorts to the Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil saga, so you're still catching, mixing and evolving your mythological battle creatures.) |

The very idea of a Persona dance game, while, yes the music of those games is awesome, is still incredibly baffling to me.
I am quite excited for Q, which I'll definitely be buying since I have a DS and all, and for 5! 5 had better stay on PS3 and not move to 4. I hope Sony will support the PS3 for as long as they supported the PS2. Remember, both Persona 3 and 4 came out after the PS3 launched. And those were two of the best RPGs on the system. So as long as Sony continues to support it, Japan is sure to give us lots of RPGs and other goodness (I notice, they don't tend to move on to the new systems as fast as western publishers do, and seeing how well PS3 sold in Japan, they'd be fools to abandon it for PS4 so quick over there) |
