Lupin just loves fictional, fanciful European microstates.

Why does this remind me of Laputa: Castle in the Sky?

Looks like Yui Ishikawa's the next rising star in the field of Japanese voice acting.

Are you sure the title isn't Lapuna III: Castle of Cagliostro in the Sky?

Director "Miyao Hayazaki"?

Sounds more ambitious than the usual special, at least. But I'm not holding my breath.

Strangely enough, IMDB claims Miyazaki will be involved in more Lupin soon. We can only hope.

Well, I've been less impressed with the franchise as of late, outside of the great Fujiko TV series. The next theatrical movie is a retread of an already used idea and the TV specials have leveled off into time wasting mediocrity. I should probably be a little more optimistic about this one, since it sounds more daring, but I've been burned a lot. Lupin means a lot to me, but there sure is a lot of crap with that umbrella over it.

I wont deny that most of TV specials from 2005 to present were decent. I used the word decent cause some of them were good. I thought last years TV special was better than the 2011 TV special. I would even list Vilar in my personal favorite Lupin villian list. Which convinced me that the TV specials can go on. I hope they'll continue on past 2019, cause by then Kanichi Kurita will break the late Yasuo Yamada's record of being the voice of Lupin longer than any previous actor.

I'm watching the entire Lupin III series for the first time. I've finished the first series to completion, have watched Castle of Cagliostro, and have seen 36 episodes of the second series. I originally started with Cagliostro, but now I'm watching everything in the order they came out. I've still got a long ways to go before I see everything, and I've taken a bit of a break due to other commitments. Hopefully I can get back in to it soon.

I wish you luck, it took me a while to get caught up with the entire series.

Ha, I'm doing that as well. I'm 2/3 through the second TV series now.
