Missed the word 'shelved' in the title. Pity it is not going to be made.

Yes it sad to hear, I wanted to see how this collaboration would've come out. I guess this will never see the light of day. |

Huh, so first there was that planned MGS-esque game starring Snake Plissken planned to release in late 2005, and now we find out that there was going to be an anime? Darn, too bad nothing really came out of a Plissken revival in the early 2000s-- would've been interesting, at the very least.

Ah man, what a shame that this isn't going to happen! I would have loved to have seen this. Escape from New York is one of my favourite movies and an anime would have been awesome.

If Escape from LA and Highlander: the Search For Vengeance are any indication, I don't think we're missing anything.

BTW, the Outlaw Star guy was supposed to direct the Plissken anime.
Animerican:
Well, 9/11 screwed everything up. The original film's DVD release date got pushed back, too. Though there are still talks over the remake. But hey, if anyone still wants more 2D 'Escape, you can look for old copies of the comic book floating around, The Snake Plissken Chronicles. Battle: Hey, I liked the Highlander anime. It's better than any of the actual film sequels. BTW, when they say more Plissken art will be revealed soon, it could just be more media in general, and not necessarily more anime stills. |

That rule is not always true. Aliens was the perfect sequel, and I am sure there are other good sequels beside that one. No one knows if it would have been a sequel, or a simple remake. But it could have been interesting. We will never know anyway. |

I'd really like to see designs of the cab driver and Issac Hayes.
