I'm hoping Sentai (as it would be Sentai) could pick up Magical Pokaan, it seems right up there alley, and would make for a funny dub.

Some of those web shorts are good takes on Loony Tunes-style slapstick.

Did they also get the 3D episode? It comes off as a pilot for an action-based parody of magical girl anime that never got made. A shame, as it might have been pretty interesting.

I don't think so. There's an entire episode where the characters have an "Engrish Game" where everyone had to speak in engrish or be penalized.

Kinda hard to dub.

My guess is you never seen mongolian chop squad lots of characters in that speak english and it was not hard to dub lots of anime have characters who speak in french or german {the japanese sometimes say stuff in french or german} to fit were the characters are from but it never effects the over all ENG dub Smile

Haven't seen this yet, but is it on the original ADV release? If so, then it's more than likely in this release too.

Probably. As the original ADV version has an english dub and japanese audio w/ subtitles.

I like that they're trying out sub-only BDs, I hope it becomes part of their normal operating procedure.

No, I haven't seen that one. God, and I bought it years ago! Been sitting on it.

This. Now that Sentai is subbing BD does this mean that Darkness could be on BD..... If wishing made it so.

As someone who does not dislike dubs (those being the only ones to benefit from this) I must say that I do not like this new "strategy" from Sentai and I do not hope that it continues. IMO the release dates for these sub-only releases make me feel as though Sentai were sending me a lump of coal for Christmas (especially since they haven't mentioned that they'll be including a physical extra, a la NISA).

Not buying the blu-rays hurts Sentai but buying these blurays seems unlikely to spur Sentai on to dubbing them later and, I fear, risks sending the wrong message; how many of NISA's sub-only blurays have been re-released with dubs?

Sub-only blurays will send these titles to a level of Dub Purgatory so deep that not even Australia (ie:Madman Entertainment) could pull them out. That's a level so deep that I don't think even the greatest of anime theologians could explain what separates that level of Dub Purgatory from bona fide Dub Hell.

They could...Even so, Sentai may have to wait 'til Japan finished releasing those on BDs.
