Well, we did get that one movie by Imagine before they shut down. While it was a different take, the designs for Astro's creator and assitant were pretty spot on in design. It would have worked if it had stuck to the original source material, but you only got 70+ minutes and you can't tell the entire story in that span of time. So we had to go for something modern. Be curious to know what Tezuka would have thought if he still lived. But all we can do now is keep an eye out and see where this goes. So far the only images that I've seen of Astro Boy being used is in Japanese drink markets around NYC. I often wonder if they're allowed to use the image for the store. I wonder if Disney is going to try and get in on this.
