I never realised he directed Occult Academy. It does make sense though. More shocking is that he did Silver Spoon's first season.

Really liked Occult Academy, it had some flaws but it was pretty cool, I enjoyed the characters and overall story and loved the art and character design and expressive animation. For example Maya was always great to watch due to the design and the really lively animation and voice acting. I would double-dip on that show if NISA were to re-release this with a dub.
Would enjoy seeing him get to do another anime original. |

I really enjoyed the interview. Ito sounds like a great up-and-coming director and I'm looking forward to seeing more from him. I do thinks he dates himself a bit. Mid-thirties isn't that old!

Well, some of the player interactions are a bit culturally-specific. Other people in the world wouldn't react the same ways. |

That was one of the more candid interviews I've seen with a Japanese director. I was surprised at how forthcoming he was about his unfamiliarity with SAO. And that bit about the calorie count for animators was really interesting too. You learn something everyday.

Mr. Ito sounds very enthusiastic about his job which is great. He seems more open and honest than Japanese professionals seem to be. He admitted to not knowing much about SAO and then made the comment about not wanting to work under directors that aren't good. I expected him to be a bit more humble but that attitude will push him in the right diretion.

He's pretty amusing. He and Kawahara had a special interview, that was included in Dengeki Bunko Magazine, and it was pretty... interesting

I've really been enjoying the interviews ANN has been posting. You've been asking some good questions that get some responses with a little meat, rather than the standard anime fan questions that get rote answers.

Oh, he directed Occult Academy? With the resume he now has, he's knocking out out of the park!
