What do you mean by toned down when compared to typical shounen jump series? That it has less action? Or because of the slower pacing?

This was a nice review though. If you review the other parts of the series, I'm curious to see how they turn out if you haven't seen the rest of the episodes.

Solid Review. I've enjoyed Nura so far myself both the anime & the manga. Can't wait to get my hands on the second BD come August!

I've noticed that Viz usually doesn't do song/title subs in their releases. Wish they did.

It definitely ramps up as it progresses, all the way through the second season

I meant more in terms of the slower pacing, although when compared to The Big Three of SJ, it also has a bit less action. I'm looking forward to seeing how and if that changes later - this is one I didn't watch streaming, so I'm just taking it as it comes on the DVD/BD releases.

Watching these episodes again with a clear head was quite refreshing although i still am annoyed at some of the directors choices, namely adding more of the human side of Nura's life than was present in the manga. I don't think it really adds anything and that's something that is mostly gone in the far superior season 2 but for now these episodes were fine. The dub is what i've come to expect from Bang Zoom but for the major players who become more important later on i think they have been cast well. Episode 9 was the highlight of this set for me. I love Grant George's Night Nura much more than Fukuyama's but then again i tend to enjoy dubs more than subs overall anyway. Wink
