Will this be honest? Jobs was pretty horrible to the people he knew.

Even the official Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson, based on years of interviews with Jobs and published at Jobs' explicit request, exposes just what a vicious SOB Jobs could be. Given the basics of his life - like refusing to acknowledge his born-out-of-wedlock daughter Lisa for years - it should be impossible to not show his dark side.

I actually enjoyed reading the book version of Jobs' biography, so I will expect some good things to come out of this manga.

I know Steve Jobs is a total dick, but personally I find that the actions he took were really inspiring because of the amount of success he brought to the company. And don't forget that you also learn a lot about yourself just by having someone push your ability to the limit like what Steve Jobs did to his colleagues.

This is not news, given that the manga industry has done many series based on well-known Westerners (for example, there's one done on Warren Buffett some years ago).

I really want to see one done on Steve Jobs, one of the most interesting and successful business titans in American history despite his faults. (By the way, Jobs is not the first business titan to trample on his colleagues and competitors. Read up on the biographies of Cornelius Vanderbilt, John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, J. P. Morgan, Henry Ford and Bill Gates--some pretty ugly stuff indeed.)

It's not quite yaoi, but it does, sortof exist. Laughing That's a commercial work, but the author also did a bunch of dj about the characters, including a tribute book when Jobs initially passed.

Geeky mangaka are awesome, and I'm intrigued by Yamazaki's involvement in this.

I was surprised to read that the Manga-ka lives in Chicago. I suppose with high-definition scanners and an internet connection she can just scan and E-mail her work to her publishers in Japan.

Steve Jobs and Apple almost never invented anything new; what they did was cleverly refine existing products into chic marketable designs. He was a genius, but was not the inventor everyone thought him to be.

I'll be very interested to see if this Manga will be true-to-life or if it will gloss over his dark side. I especially want to know how it will handle his refusal to seek proper treatment for his pancreatic; before he died he expressed regret over choosing homoeopathic remedies over modern medicine.

A manga biography of Steve Jobs. That'll be fascinating. Hopefully,we'll get a manga biography of George Washington or Abraham Lincoln soon. It'll be fascinating to see.
