Probably a smart move; if I were a teen in the area I'd probably be considering trading cheap PS2 games in to make a few bucks.

I once explained to a relative that, while violent video games probably did desensitize people somewhat, the effect was much less profound than one might think because they "desensitize" fairly quickly, less than 2 hours. I mean, there's only so many death animations in a game and they quickly get ignored by the brain. Like driving down a highway, your brain streamlines things and doesn't process or conceptualize much of it. IMHO, violent video games do adversely affect a very small, susceptible portion of the population, while the vast majority can handle it just fine, like in other forms of media.

... like, maybe, the rest of the world thinking you are a bunch of reactionary lunatics, perhaps?

Glad they came to their senses about this.

So here's an idea. Go to Gamestop - pick up some crappy M-rated bargain bin games for like $5, then give it to these idiots for $25. Very Happy

Well, of course. Why do something like this and tell nobody about it? Laughing

Hate it when people do this. All for publicity, and it'll continue with politicians making laws just to get shut down to just say "we're there for the kids" stuff. Even if the group did make the plans better, they probably wouldn't still go through with it.
