It sounds a little redundant but it IS a film... it's just that "the Movie" is part of the title...

It's in theaters, yes.

"The Movie" is added onto most anime-based films in theaters. "Gekijouban" is the Japanese. The actual title is "The Eternal Story," though.

And that Shinpi no Hou (Mystical Laws) movie was such an obvious religious propaganda film. I thought it was just filled with some bad plot twists and crazy elements for good vs. evil... but then I realized after being approached and having talked to the Koufuku no Kagaku people--
They believe it could happen in real life! Maybe not like this... but when someone asks you, enthusiastically, "Do you believe in aliens?!" and "Don't you think the world would be better if all people, including Christians, join religions?!" --and then they give you, FOR FREE, more tickets to bring friends back to see the movie, as well as a book of their religious philosophy... well, yeah. It's not hard to tell what their motives are. Anime hyper

They decided to slim it down for the official English title.

As for The Mystical Laws, everybody's got their way of spreading their religion. The real question is how does it compare to the increasing onslaught of Christian cinema?
