Seems rather silly to only release it on iOS when Android has a bigger market share.

Kana is easy.
It's the kanji that gets you.

Either way just releasing it on one limits your reach.

Reach matters in advertising or access to services (e.g., the Crunchyroll app), but that's not what this is. If reach were what mattered, this would make more sense as an online Flash game.
Since this game is an end-in-itself, they need its revenue (app, ads, in-app purchases) to cover development and distribution costs. That math works out differently for different products on different platforms.
Also, played it for five minutes on the iPad. Y'all aren't missing much.

Seems like you're intent on doing it since you brought it up. I didn't say anything about one platform being the better one, I mere stated how I felt it was silly to limit your options by cutting out the larger market. However, I do admit that I neglected to think of the iPads and such, and was strictly thinking from a cell phone stance.

Yes it does. Just learning the radicals can put a slightly insane look in your eyes.
This is a pretty good idea though; if it keeps the kiddies interested and helps them to learn, why not?

I am a little bit disappointed in the game. At least for me there isn't like any sound, and the gameplay seems like it could be tweaked. I've only played for like 5 seconds, but it seems odd dragging the character to the character before hitting an eat button. Why not just tap the characters?
I do still like it though and plan to play it more.
