TALES OF XILLIA 2 GIVES FANS ANOTHER JAPAN-ONLY RPG

This is not inherently true. In fact, during Japan's announcements about Xillia 2, NA/UK Namdai was telling fans that they had a surprise announcement coming, which is also why they have never released the final video in that Tales interview. So more than likely we will be getting Xillia 1, which could lead to Xillia 2. spoiler[Its also finally the end of the month so that announcement should be here soon [<--Nevermind nevermind, I can't find the "end of the month" post to verify it]]

Pfffffffff, I laughed harder at this than I should have. I will never be able to unsee it now!

At times like this, I'm glad that the Atelier series is well off the radar of stand-up comedians. If it weren't, some unfunny hack would surely do a bit about how ateliers are workshops and how calling the game “Atelier Ayesha” is like calling it “Restaurant Ayesha” or “Wal-Mart Pharmacy Ayesha.” Then that comedian would pause and hope for polite laughter.

I honestly don't get why people keep bringing this up. It may sound a bit awkward in English, but in some other languages it's perfectly normal to call your atelier *insert name here*. In fact, there is atleast one real Atelier Annie. Restaurant Ayesha would be a perfectly normal name for a business as well. Actually, there's a Restaurant Aisha nearby.

@sarukah Well the tales of twitter account for namcos UK branch has been hinting that it will be either TOX or TOIR but it sounds like the announcment was pushed back to a unknown date.

Same here. Just looking at the services calendar that dropped in the mail, I see multiple businesses by something + name. Restaurants, hotels, carages, jewelries, bakeries... you name it. I've never thought twice about it.

But I guess it is very american to find your own lack of knowledge funny.

Having JRPGs announced that don't release over here is the norm, not the exception. Like only about 33-40% of all JRPGs released this gen actually came over here, including handhelds. If Americans were willing to play more types of games, we might see these games come over here... but the problem is that all they want these days are shooters and more shooters. No variety.

LOL The Calvin reference made my day. Smile I did think that was interesting that Wada made those comments days after your rant. I just think Square is missing the point on WHY FFVII was so loved - and even if they did, a big part of FFVII's success was timing.

I'm interested in more information on Xillia 2. I was pretty excited for the first Xillia as it looked like it was taking the series in a slightly darker direction (which is what I loved in Abyss). However, I've had a lot of people say that Xillia was way too linear.

The choices in Xillia 2's cutscene look like a nice new twist on the old formula, but I'm not a fan of the reduction in cast and the possibility for a silent protagonist. One of my favorite things about Tales games are the skits and character interactions.

It's bad that neither FFX or FFXII got really interesting sequels as both of them really changed the original games' styles.

Tokyo Jungle sounds like an interesting title. Reminds me of the 'Sims 3: Pets' game where you can take control of being any animal of your choice. But this is about animals in the FS. Very interesting premise. I may have to keep my eye on this one. If it turns out to be a winner or up there I might have to recommend it for our game collection.

Tokyo Jungle sounds like the video game version of the show Life After People, I'll have to check it out when it gets a NA release.

I really want a copy of Theatrhythm...but I can't justify buying a Nintendo 3DS for just one game. :/ Going to have to keep watching the lineups...I'll probably end up doing what I did with the DS, finally finding about 5 titles I'd play on it and then getting one a year before the next gen is announced. Oh well. It's not like I have time to keep up with all my video games, anyway, so I don't mind being so behind @.@.

...Much.

FF is doomed to mediocrity through imitation while its fans whine about Call of Duty being more popular.

Also, after Steel Battalion, I'm gonna use my kinect for dance games mostly.

Where was that said? I just checked their page and saw nothing about it being pushed back (I didn't see any hinting towards TOIR either).

Eh, not really much interested in this weeks article, it has merits though, but what todd forgot to mention in the import roundup is this, since it'll be out soon...

About TOIR https://twitter.com/TalesofU/status/217629165090910209
and as for it being pushed back https://twitter.com/TalesofU/status/217625881861033985 Might just be mistaking it though for both.
