While the first Starship Troopers film did not feature the suits, Starship Troopers: Invasion will have power suits designed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and Shinji Usui (Metal Wolf Chaos, Chromehounds). The two created designs for three different kinds of suits to appear in the title. |
IIRC some power suits were already on Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles.

Yeah, I definitely remember some of those. That series was pretty good for a cartoon I watched in the morning, took itself seriously and kept a good story going.

I remember watching that way back when. Sadly I find the CG now tedious to watch (it looks awful, it's like QuestWorld), but I agree that it was pretty good for what it was. Showing hardened troopers using minced oaths instead of profanity brought a smile to my face. I know that it was a necessary sacrifice for being a childrens' show (along with the lessened violence and gore) but I still found the absurdity of it humorous.
I'm looking forward to this project. The world can always use more science fiction. As a bonus for me, this property is almost guaranteed to have exactly 0 moe-blobs in it

Of course you can. It's called The Book, and incidentally it is vastly superior to that 1997 abomination.
