1- Can we now accept that Bleach is cancelled?

2- Naruto still has to be pretty popular to not only justify a running TV show, but also a comedy spin off. It's like Perfect Strangers, except Urkel doesn't hijack the spinoff.

I haven't read the series, but if this is to be anything like the little shorts after the recent Shippuden episodes, I most certainly will have to watch Anime hyper Some of the funniest things I've seen anywhere as of recent.

I will say, I watched the episode that aired in Japan this past Monday today, the first Japanese episode I'd watched in quite a long time, favoring to just watch the dub instead... And the fact that it is ending resonated a little bit. It wasn't a good feeling at all. There're many fans that're disappointed with the way Kubo has let things get with the storyline, and this is just another thing that has resulted from this and it's quite major. I didn't care too much when I read the news initially, but now I might understand many people's sentiments just a little bit.

i remember reading how ichigo beat you know who as a news item on an anime site and was floored. i didn't understand how he could do that and have the show continue on. maybe a couple months prior he even stated the show could go on another decade. he really screwed up.

I was thinking more or less the same thing.

I found it ridiculous to keep going after spoiler[Aizen was pretty much taken care of].
And frankly anything going on after it doesn't even make much sense to me. It feels like i'm reading a filler arc or something, and like i'm just wasting my time...
I almost almost get the feeling the ending is gonna go the same route as the whole Yu Yu Hakusho anime ending.
I honestly think this dragging out of the manga is worse than when Inuyasha was...
That being said, I myself never heard of the guy saying he thought the show would 'go on for another decade'. That, or I can't remember... but boy, he's either gotta be quite stupid, or pretty full of himself if he thought that pulling that whole spoiler[arc after Aizen] thing was gonna just keep him going like that...

If he did say that, you just know he's kicking himself now.

Anyways, as for the whole Rock Lee spinoff, yeah, i'm thinking too that Naruto must still be pretty damn popular. I highly doubt this'll make it here but... well, I don't like Naruto enough to watch fillers must less this so it really doesn't matter to me.
But! For those who do want it, i'll just hope along with ya for it Wink ~

I don't see why they wouldn't. The designs are too goofy to be offensive in that manner.

Kinda fitting when you think about it. Bleach has essentially been replaced by a Japanese Family Guy-style "visual gag" comedy.

Bleach used to come on Saturdays at 11 PM ET on Adult Swim. Now we get Family Guy at 10:30. Sure, we still get Bleach at Midnight, but Japan isn't quite that lucky.

As for American prospects for this anime, I'd say [as] is pretty much turned off of anime comedy ever since Shin Chan flopped, and Disney Anime hyper has had enough of Naruto. Still, Nicktoons has been having success with DBZ, so it remains a possibility.

And I wouldn't count [as] out completely; trying to form a block between this anime and the new Lupin for 2013 could be a very attractive option, especially since it seems Family Guy and Rock Lee use a similar type of comedic styling. Maybe in the future, we could see something like this:

10:30 PM - Family Guy
11 PM - Rock Lee (Premiere)
11:30 PM - New Lupin (Premiere)
12 AM - Bleach
12:30 AM - Action Reruns

I did always say that if Rock Lee were the protagonist of Naruto, I would have never stopped watching it. Guess I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Naruto isn't living its popularity peak - in fact it's been slipping over the past few years..the thing is, the Rock Lee spin-off manga is simply awesome. The anime adaptation is well deserved.

I'm not debating the latter, but it's kinda like Family Guy spinning off The Cleveland Show. Generally, the original has to be pretty damn popular to warrant a spinoff, lest they make a show with an original premise.

And now I'm wondering what Kishi's version of American Dad would look like.

Remember that a family and their cat flying in a watermelon seems to be the kind of show that constantly holds the #1 slot in Japan. Naruto remains quite popular, despite the naysayers. Not as popular as OP, but holding fine in its own right.
