""high school students watching a pornographic movie together" along with "a scene of jiggling breasts" and a scene showing "actors moaning in pornographic movies.""
Was there a season I missed? Do they have some special edition, cause I watched the thing, but apparently THEY have the good episodes. |

I've seen all 52 episodes of School Rumble three times, and I don't remember any scene where they're watching porn. With Mikoto's rack there are some jiggles, but for the life of me I don't remember a porn viewing. School Rumble has to be one of the most clean shows I've seen, so it's kind shocking that it's tainting Taiwan's youth. |

Eh. South/East Asian countries can be extremely conservative sometimes.

Taiwan is the only country outside of Japan to have DVD releases for Seikon no Qwasar. I don't think it's all that conservative.

Good, I'm not the only one that doesn't remember the porn. Mikoto's Dees, on the other hand...

The only thing I can think of is where the chubbier guy (his name escapes me, but they call him Buddha sometimes) is trying to give away his tapes which I'm pretty sure where porn, or something close to it. And I think there was a few 'moan' sound effects used in scenes, but not actual moaning per say...
Either way, talk about being uptight. School Rumble is a show about teenagers, and this is the kind of thing that comes up with teenagers. That and, again, if you don't want your kids watching something, here's an idea to those parents - just turn off the TV. |

Oh yea, the porn giveaway. I still don't think they watched any, though...
Let's break out the DVDs and find out! UPDATE: They definitely have to be referring to episode 11 of season 2. Jiggling, moaning, porn viewing, it's all there. It's funny as hell, and they're being uptight, but they didn't make it up or even exaggerate anything. Last edited by The King of Harts on Thu Jan 19, 2012 3:15 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I think he shows them clips to get them interested in the tapes. For example spoiler[he shows one from before they were born to Imadori, and he shows another one that looks a LOT like the school nurse to...um...crop-headed kid.] I'm awful with the names, that's another reason for me to re-watch heh.
Spoiler-texted that just out of precaution, though I can't imagine anyone who hasn't seen this show reading too much into this thread. Better safe than sorry I guess though. |

I guess it's all about the context; the Taiwanese mom only saw the scene (probably the one screenshot that's linked in the original article) without knowing the history of the anime and what type of show School Rumble actually is: one of the funniest comedy anime in the last 10 years if you ask me. By the way, did the National Communications Commission actually watched the show themselves before fining the TV station? It doesn't look like they did. And, School Rumble does have ecchi fan service, but its true quality is in the comedy department. Wish School Rumble Z had more success. |

I really wish we knew which episode this was supposed to be, since "An independent review team of 18 experts tasked by the NCC unanimously agreed...".
That said, the article only indicates they agreed the station had violated the rule, not that the description in the complaint itself was accurate. |

"There's no way these are the same size", Harima said.
An expensive quote, indeed. |

Good find on the original Taiwanese article TC-man. I'm now more amused by this than I am annoyed because how funny is it, if it was the episode that scene is from, that she misunderstood a scene that is ALL about misunderstanding?

I mean its not exactly a kids show so...
at first I had no idea what they were talking about but now I know they were probably talking about Buddah and the boys lol I hope this doesn't give School Rumble a bad name, its not like its a bad show, it's just not a kids show. maybe this will teach them that not all cartoons are meant for children! |

I've got to ask, if this mother was so concerned about her daughter watching such a "bad" show (although School Rumble is a reasonably tame show) why didn't she just turn off the TV and then just distract the kid? I doubt the kid will remember this fifteen to twenty years from now, let alone five to twenty minutes ago.
Now I am not sure about Taiwan, but I am sure there must be a age rating system with shows there as well. But more importantly, why is a five year old watching School Rumble to begin with? Yes School Rumble is a fairly clean show, but you have to remember the initial audience that shows is directed to and that is (guessing here) teenagers to early adults. Compared to Shadow Star Narutaro and series that could be much worse off for person of that age, I'd say the kid will be just fine. Probably is wondering why her Mom is all upset, but I am leaning to believe that she probably doesn't even know what is going on, so after some time, she'll likely forget about this or entirely forget about this whole ordeal. Gyt Kaliba: Now that you mention that, this is quite hilarious. A misunderstanding within a misunderstanding, comedy at it's best. |
