There's a difference between being a zombie fan (read: someone who watches zombie movies or TV shows) and being the type of mindless zombie (ha!) who follows the crowd and buys random stuff with zombies on them just because they're the latest fad.
I'm a big fan of George Romero's zombie movies, however the over-saturation of zombie everything right now has taken the fun out of watching zombie movies or TV shows.
This comic is sad and hilarious and true, all at the same time.

Yup, them zombie walks are a spreadin. Now if they'd just all head to City Hall, I think they could do some real good there. Very Happy

Well I've never been into the whole zombie culture, but I witnessed some cosplay of it when I went to Comic con several months ago.

Straight up, I don't really care about what others do or what they spend their money on, but can't say I appreciated how some of them blocked my way to the convention entrance and very loudly chanted some zombie related material.

That is pretty unusual and while I was pretty nice about it (I just moved on and didn't pay much attention) not everyone would have been as cool about as me.

Yeah, there's definitely a lot of irony in how zombies, once frequently used as a commentary on mindless consumerism, have now themselves become a big, mindless, over-commercialized fad.

Editor's Note: as of this week, Anime News Nina will be shifting to a twice-monthly schedule, with a new strip every other Wednesday.

So even Nina is cutting back in the economy. Laughing

Every other Wednesday? I have taken them for granted! Love Nina!

Used to be the problem with merchandise. Especially collector toys.

Not enough brains on Wall Street. The poor things would starve! Very Happy
(Then again, not so much greater the number of brains in City Hall, either.)

Great strip, Robin, for getting us into that Halloween spirit. Shocked

Dam, I'm kinda apart of the problem. I was thinking of doing the Zombie walk this Saturday too. It is only because it looks fun. I don't go buying everything that labels "zombie" on it, I only involve if it seems fun. Just like the films, shows, or comic I watch/read (The Walking Dead, High School of the Dead, Classic Zombie Movies, etc)

This makes me feel weird about going to my local zombie walk this Saturday... than again, I don't eat up everything zombie. It's also a fun thing to do if your not of trick-or-treating age anymore...

Seems like we already don't get enough ANN, butttt, oh well ^^;

Ironic, since I'm watching a zombie special on History right now. I'm not into the whole zombie thing myself, but my sister's into it.

At first, I thought the zombie thing in the strip was going to be about how zombie-like anime fans can be, but I still liked it.

I never understood this fascination with Zombies, they are nowhere as cool as Werewolves. No one has really done anything with them either it's mostly just the same movie except occasionally you will get a comedy one.
