... *sighs* If only Denny's weren't kitschy truck-stopish places in America. *wistfully glances away*

I think they are probably kind of kitschy in Japan too. Unless K-on suddenly became a mark of sophistication.

Okay, maybe kitschy, but definitely not affiliated with truck stops.

K-ON is known for tea and cakes. They are quite sophisticated individuals, good sir.

I concede, gentle reader. Tea and cakes are indeed elegant.

Oh, Denny's is quite a popular restaurant chain in Japan with young people. I've seen thinly-disguised versions (a.k.a. "bland name product") of Denny's in anime like Ichigo Mashimaro/Strawberry Marshmallow, A Certain Scientific Railgun, All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, and, to some degree, the restaurant in Working!/Wagnaria! is inspired by Denny's.
If only Canadian Denny's would run this promotion. And my local Denny's, on Clyde Avenue, is mere steps away from Anime Stop, Ottawa's only anime specialty retailer too.

Both are pronounced the same way too.

It just depends on where it is. If it's right next to the college or the theaters or in the suburbs....... A truck couldn't even fit in our nearest Denny's small parking lot.

I wonder if Denny's food in Japan is as awful as it is in the US.

Get ready to cream your trifles, fanboys (lol, couldn't resist)
If only Denny's was this cool in the states, at least tie-ins with even movies would be cool, instead we get Baconland or SuperCheeseMonth or whatever.

For me it's more like, "If only Denny's wasn't a super racist company."

Lol wut? I read some articles about racism at Denny's, but have trouble believing it is a company wide event. I didn't even here about the concept until this post.

It didn't always use to be that way (at least the ones I went to wheren't near truck stops but I suppose it followed the same path Howard Johnson's tread before, and I'll give people points if they knew what I just said).

When it isn't Anna Millers, it's Denny's.

If only the Denny's was still around where I am (the one that was near me closed up a decade ago).

Don't remind me of the 90's, please!

There's plenty of things Japan gets that often started out in our fair country (Mister Donut anyone, and I'm probably the only one in this group who remembers them).

Oh it was in the news. It takes one person to make a difference they say.
