Nendoroid + Badge + Food for $50? That's actually not too bad. Nendoroids are usually more than that by themselves, aren't they?

I preordered my Madoka nendo at 2600 Yen, which translates to about $32.50 right now. Some are more, some are less, but 2600 is the norm.

I'm pretty jealous that they get it about 2 months early. I've had mine on preorder since day one at the end of April, and I've been waiting eagerly ever since.

If I was running the cafe, I'd serve a plate of marshmallow fluff vaguely shaped like kyubey.

There is a typo in the line regarding "Charlotte the Dessert Witch" where the "r" in dessert is missing.

On topic:

I'd wait longer than 7 hours.

Wait, was it for a preorder of the nendoroid, or did they actually get it months early? It's seems a little strange that they'd do that. (Judging from things in the past, I think the Madoka nendoroid is probably going to be delayed, at least to September, I definitely can'ts see Good Smile getting stuff out early. That would be impossible for them. :S)

The set is for the pre-order of the Nendoroid figure, although Good Smile Company offers to ship the figure for free when it arrives. (Offer applies only to Japanese postal addresses.)

This is probably going to make some people angry, but none the less I am going to say it, although I actually mean no disrespect at all.

Seven hours just for curry, a action figure that could easily be bought online or probably even a vending machine and menu seems excessive and unproductive usage of time which could have been spent doing more productive.

Considering this is Japan, it's exceptionally and I mean exceptionally easy to find a restaurant that sells curry. Also, since it's Japan, you probably could get rice and curry powder/sauce very cheaply. Less than 2-3 dollars at most supermarkets.

As for the action figure, considering that with every line there will be people that got in line earlier, within an hour or so, the figure might go online and that would not only save you time, but in some cases (not all obviously) would be cheaper. Given that whole "event" costs about $50 or so.

As for the menu, it's in the same situation as the action figure. Eventually it will be sold online and there is a chance the entire image will be posted that day so could also go that route as well.

I've seen steaks and seafood that that can be pricy (some even costing more than $50) but it's extremely hard to believe that a bowl of curry (even with a shape of a anime character) would be that expensive. Yes, the action figure are menu are factored in, but I doubt neither of them were that expensive to produce in the first place.

But you know, at the end of the day, if you worked for that money and are a adult, how you spend your money is up to you. If you worked for that money, it's yours to spend it on what ever you want.

These are the kinds of "excessive" fans who also prepare or buy (expensive) cakes for fictional characters for their fictional birthday and valentine's day. Standing in line for a few hours seems like nothing, they'd stand in line for days.

Do you ever remember that huge lineup at the midnight release of Harry Potter 7? I remember that the huge bookstore that was the size of a supermarket was COMPLETELY JAMMED. Not to mention that there at least 1000 people outside the gate of the bookstore squeezing against each other to get the books. How long do you think those guys outside will have to wait before they get their book? Probably something close to 7 hours. The point is, that this kind of stuff is more of a social event than just a lineup, and it is not a complete waste of time at all if you get to have fun talking to other people with has the same interest as you.

To be honest, I used to think exactly like you do, but that was when I was kind of introverted and I had nothing to do other than work or study. I don't know about you, but if you are introverted like how I used to be, I suggest you attend more of these kinds of events, because it helps you to get a new outlook on society and sometimes it can get you some fun!
